Then after the velvet revolution in 1989 the borders were opened to the west, TJ Susice, Mu Susice OFS Klatovy quickly took the initiative to organize an international youth football tournament and the Otava Cup became a reality. Since then the tournament has become an established part of the Euro-Sportring program. No wonder, because whoever wants to sample the atmosphere of old Europe is in the right place in iSusice. The hospitable provincial town in Bohemia is steeped in an atmosphere of an ancient history and the organizers treat their guests to a fun program, on the fields and in the market square. This international youth football tournament in the Czech Republic is a unique introduction to Czech hospitality! 


TJ Susice, Mù Susice and OFS Klatovy

The Otava Cup tournament is organised by TJ Susice, Mù Susice and OFS Klatovy. TJ Sušice was founded in 1912 as SK Sušice. The club from southern Bohemia has a rich history. In the mid-1970s the club got its current name: TJ Sušice. The club has 270 members and plays in a lovely stadium with room for 5,000 spectators. The Otava Cup is one of the most popular tournaments of the Czech Republic. 


The Otava Cup takes place at various locations in and around Susice. The main venue is the stadium of TJ Susice with a capacity of 5,000 spectators. There is an artificial pitch right next to the stadium. This location is also where the finals and prize-giving ceremony take place.

Touristic information


Sušice is a village with 12,000 inhabitants. It is one of the main tourist resorts in the Bohemian Forest between The town of Plizen and the German border. From the village centre you can see Germany and Austria. 

Sumava Natural Park

Sušice has a pleasant centre in a green environment. It is the gateway to the Sumava Natural Park. This hilly region is also known as the ‘green roof of Europe’ and is on the UNESCO list of protected areas as a biosphere reserve. The forest and numerous lakes are extremely suitable for outdoor activities. You also have a wonderful view of the area from the top of the Svabtobor mountain (840 metres). 

Water park Horazdovice

Water park Horazdovice is a modern indoor swimming pool complex with, among others, a 62-metre slide . There are also plenty of other entertaining water attractions.
